Researchers tell us that we need 6-8 hours of sleep, this excludes children below the age of 7, their bodies need more sleep than ours, a new born baby sleeps approximately 20+ hours a day, which reducing periodically to 8-9 hours by the age of 7.
Nobody can tell you how much sleep you need. If we could optimize our sleep, it would surely help in increasing our efficiency during waking hours, I said “optimize” not “reduce”.

Yes, even though this sounds outlandish and cruel to you, this is one of the most important lessons to be learned in life. There is a very sound logical reasoning behind this. Human beings as such by living in society have been conditioned to a very wrong belief which is that living selflessly and doing good to others is important even if it means hurting ourselves. Slowly this belief has turned into a tendency to purposely hurt ourselves to show how sacrificing we are which in turn feeds our ego and we go on playing this game in order to gain social recognition because our society for the most part respects and kind of worships people with martyr tendencies. But as far as I have learnt in life you don’t really end up gaining much from a behavior like this except for the so-called respect of the people who in my own personal opinion are not really worthy of even paying attention. First of all, they are but, forced to think of what they are doing to their lives, how meaningless things are in their life. Secondly, either they show respect to the person or at other times if they harbor jealousy they try to attack the person passively. Continue reading
Research has shown that 10,000 hours is the threshold, the “magic” point at which a person goes from being okay to being a super success. It has almost nothing to do with talent, just persistence.
You have to be just above a threshold. It is like basketball, you should be tall enough. You have to be above 6 feet. But it hardly matters whether you are 6 feet 8 or 6 feet 6. Then it is your skills that matter.
According to various studies and various books like outliers it took nearly 10 years of practice for anyone to become a master of their art, Beethoven, Beatles, Sachin Tendulkar, Michael Jackson and many other brilliant people. But 10 years of doing what? Well, precisely it takes about 10,000 hours of practice in any art to become a master of it. Continue reading
